Okay, so Australia have called time on their innings. The West Indian openers are out there to face the music. Three slips, a gully and a short-leg in place for Hazlewood. Here he is..

Now the ball is in Smith's court. What does he have in mind? When does he enforce the declaration? Join us back after the break to find out..

You would have thought that the West Indies couldn't stoop any lower than what they were yesterday. But no. They outdid themselves on the second morning, which is outrageous. Hands in pockets, no intensity whatsoever, going through the motions - just didn't seem interested enough to be out there. And the duo of Marsh and Voges took them to the cleaners. They held the 'riding crop' and swung it furiously. There was a windfall of records being broken - most notably them storming to the highest 4th wicket partnership, ever. Marsh finally perished just before the break, failing to clear the ropes with a slog-sweep. Fell for 182. However, Voges has been just magnificent. An absolutely demolishing knock.

111.4 - Warrican to Voges, no run, drives this loopy full delivery towards cover

111.3 - Warrican to Voges, FOUR, Voges nails the sweep this time. Comes across and sends this fullish delivery through to the deep mid-wicket fence, there were two fielder in the deep but none of them stood any chance of stopping that

111.2 - Warrican to Mitchell Marsh, 1 run, tossed up outside off, Marsh knocks it through the cover region and gets off the mark with a single

Mitchell Marsh, right handed bat, comes to the crease

111.1 - Warrican to S Marsh, out Caught by Darren Bravo!! Marsh's brilliant knock comes to an end. Gets a pat on the back and a handshake from his partner as he makes his walk back to the pavilion. Everyone is up on their feet to applaud the effort, the West Indians too congratulate him. Coming to the ball, it was floated up outside off, Marsh kneels down to play the slog sweep, hits it well but hits it straight down the throat of deep mid-wicket, who hardly had to move an inch to pouch that. Smith still hasn't declared. S Marsh c Darren Bravo b Warrican 182(266) [4s-15 6s-1]

110.3 - Holder to Voges, no run, fuller in length and outside off, Voges drives it into the off-side, can't find the gap this time around

110.3 - Holder to Voges, wide, bumper on the stumps, Voges ducks under it and the umpire signals a wide for height

110.2 - Holder to Voges, no run, another yorker length delivery just outside off, Voges jams it out and it almost rolls back onto the stumps, but Voges knew where the ball was and pushes it away from the line of the stumps with his blade

110.1 - Holder to S Marsh, 1 run, Holder comes from round the wicket and bowls it in the blockhole, Marsh squeezes it out in front of extra cover and sets off, there was some confusion in running and Voges was eventually late to take off, the fielder comes in and fires a direct-hit at the striker's end and Voges just about made his ground

Has Voges been run out here? The square leg umpire - Marais Erasmus, sends it upstairs. He's just about made his ground and it'll be not out

109.6 - Warrican to S Marsh, 1 run, tossed up outside off, Marsh drives it down to long-off, keeps the strike with a run

109.5 - Warrican to S Marsh, no run, flatter delivery outside off and turning in, Marsh was trying to work it through the on-side after coming across, fails to get any bat on it as the ball sneaks past the inside edge, clips the pad and goes through to the keeper. The sound was from the ball clipping that pad and West Indies lose a review

Ramdin goes up for a caught behind. The umpire doesn't think so that there's anything on it and Holder reviews it. 'That's a fair delivery. Can you move on to front arm? Can you rock and roll it. Could you try HotSpot please? Leg-side, can you go back. Go to the off-side one, there's definitely a mark on the back pad. Go back on the ground. Stay with your onfield call Marais,' says third umpire Gaffaney.

109.4 - Warrican to Voges, 1 run, drags it short well outside off, Voges slaps it in front of extra cover and scampers across for a quick single

108.4 - Roach to S Marsh, 1 run, just short of a good length and on the pads, Marsh tucks it away through square leg for a single

There is a light drizzle falling now. For now, the umpires have decided to continue

108.2 - Roach to Voges, no run, bowls this slightly wide outside off, Voges reaches out as he looks to cut it away, fails to lay bat on it. Might have been sligtly off-pace and that's why Voges couldn't connect

108.1 - Roach to Voges, FOUR, angling in on middle stump line, Voges plays a whippy flick and gets it backward of square leg, there was a fielder in the deep but he had no chance of stopping that. This is now the highest 4th wicket partnership in Tests, ever! Records keep tumbling for these two

107.6 - Warrican to Voges, 1 run, 250 for Voges! This is also his highest first-class score now. It was bowled fuller outside off, Voges reaches out and drives it to long-off, retains strike as well

107.5 - Warrican to Voges, FOUR, Voges is just one away from 250 now. Tossed up outside off, Voges takes a step forward and loft-drives it over extra cover, runs away

107.4 - Warrican to Voges, 2 runs, floated up well outside off, Voges drills it in the gap between sweeper cover and long-off, comes back for the second with ease

107.3 - Warrican to Voges, no run, Voges goes right across his stumps and tries to lap this fine past the keeper, not sure whether the ball took a deflection off the bottom edge or the pad or none at all, but it rolls away towards the man at short third man

107.2 - Warrican to Voges, no run, shortish outside off, Voges cuts it straight to point

107.1 - Warrican to Voges, no run, drags this short and outside off, Voges goes hard on the cut, ends up chopping it towards short third man

106.6 - Roach to Voges, 1 run, just short of a good length and outside off, Voges stays rooted to the crease and clubs it down to long-on, couldn't get a lot of power behind it and he keeps the strike with a single

106.5 - Roach to Voges, no run, banged in short and outside off, Voges pulls it on the bounce to deepish mid-wicket, it was hit with some power and went to the fielder quickly, not giving the batsmen enough time to cross over

106.4 - Roach to Voges, no run, opens the face of the bat and bunts this length delivery towards backward point, shouts a loud 'No' for the single

106.3 - Roach to S Marsh, leg byes, 1 run, back of a length delivery on the pads, Marsh fails to tuck it away and the batsman sneak in a leg bye as the ball rolls away into the on-side off the thigh pad

This is now the highest partnership for Australia in Tests at home

106.2 - Roach to S Marsh, no run, on a length and angled across off, Marsh taps it towards point, can't get the single away

106.1 - Roach to Voges, 1 run, the West Indians are intentionally bowling wide outside off, this time Voges reaches out and cracks it towards third man for a single

Will Smith declare as soon as Marsh gets to his double hundred? Or will he do it even before that? Only time will tell.

S Marsh 176(254) Voges 241(259) Warrican 24-1-137-2

105.6 - Warrican to S Marsh, SIX, take that! This maximum gets the crowd going as well. 19 runs came off the over! This was tossed up just outside off, Marsh advances and hoicks it hard, hits it right off the screws and it clears the cow corner fence easily. It was hit flat and someone in the crowd took a good catch as well

105.5 - Warrican to Voges, 1 run, Voges kneels down and falls over on the sweep, but manages to get it square of the wicket on the on-side, just a single this time around

105.4 - Warrican to Voges, FOUR, take that! Voges is in a hurry and frankly speaking, he is doing a good job at scoring these runs quickly. Comes down the track to get to the pitch of the ball and lofts it inside-out over extra cover, no need to run for those

105.3 - Warrican to Voges, FOUR, and again! This time the fielder at deep mid-wicket was moved further to his left in the deep and Voges this time sweeps it to his right, he once again had no chance of cutting it off

105.2 - Warrican to Voges, FOUR, that's a great shot. Floated up well outside off, Voges kneels down, reaches out for it and sweeps it in front of square on the on-side, the fielder at deep mid-wicket had no chance of stopping that

105.1 - Warrican to Voges, no run, Voges backs away even before the ball was bowled and Warrican drags it slightly wide outside off seeing that, the batsman can only mistime his slap towards cover

S Marsh 170(253) Voges 228(254) Roach 14-1-89-0

104.6 - Roach to S Marsh, 2 runs, another one that's short and at the batsman, Marsh pulls it along the ground through mid-wicket, he has ample time to come back for the second

104.5 - Roach to Voges, 1 run, bangs this short just outside off, Voges transfers his weight on the back foot and muscles the pull, picks out deep mid-wicket and it will only be a single

104.4 - Roach to Voges, no run, angling in on the pads, Voges was looking to hoick it into the on-side, misses it completely and wears it on the back thigh. He's definitely feeling it as well as he grimaces in pain. There was no real appeal as the ball was snaking well down leg with the angle

104.4 - Roach to Voges, wide, bumper on off and middle, Voges has nothing to do with it and lets it go. It was above his head and the umpire signals a wide

104.3 - Roach to S Marsh, 1 run, too full just outside off, Marsh squeezes out the drive to the left of mid-off and the batsmen pinch a quick single

103.5 - Warrican to S Marsh, 1 run, turning in on off, Marsh works it to the left of mid-wicket and gets to the other end

103.4 - Warrican to S Marsh, no run, slower through the air and just outside off, Marsh comes across and turns it straight to mid-wicket

103.3 - Warrican to S Marsh, FOUR, once again Warrican drops it short and pays the price for it. Marsh rocks back and pulls it over mid-wicket, no need to run for those

103.2 - Warrican to S Marsh, no run, flatter just outside off, Marsh punchily wrists it towards mid-wicket

103.1 - Warrican to Voges, 1 run, drags his first ball short outside off, Voges cuts it to the left of sweeper, the fielder fumbles a bit in the deep but the batsmen don't risk the second

102.6 - Roach to Voges, no ball, 1 run, almost a yorker on the stumps, Voges squeezes it out through mid-wicket and gets to the other end. The umpire signals a no-ball as Roach had overstepped. This is now the highest 4th wicket stand for Australia in Tests

102.5 - Roach to Voges, FOUR, the Aussies are definitely aiming for a declaration. Voges has gone up at least two gears in a bid to score quick runs. This was pitched up well outside off, Voges leans forward and drills the drive to the right of mid-off, who dives across but the ball was far away from his reach. Crashes into the fence in no time

102.4 - Roach to Voges, FOUR, edged and four! This was bowled slightly wide outside off, Voges throws the kitchen sink at that, gets a thick outside edge that flies right over the gap between the slip and the keeper, races away

102.3 - Roach to Voges, FOUR, just short of a good length and just outside off, Voges hangs back and dabs it very late, gets it to the left of the man at backward point, Bishoo gives chase but the ball beats him to the fence. 500 up for Australia

102.2 - Roach to Voges, no run, half-volley outside off, Voges powers the drive right off the middle of the bat, but picks out mid-off to perfection

It has once again gone overcast at the Blundstone Arena. Hopefully, the rain will stay away

101.2 - Holder to Voges, FOUR, where did that come from? Voges shimmies down the wicket while making some room, he thumps the drive to the right of mid-off. He converted that into a fuller length by coming down. Now, he has the highest indiviual score on this ground, going past Ponting's 209

94.2 - Jerome Taylor to Voges, no run, short and Voges' eyes lit up, he throws his bat at that and misses out on a scoring opportunity. He might have been undone by the bounce as that hardly carried to Ramdin

Curtly Ambrose is once again seen giving a pep talk to the West Indian players. There is a good cloud cover, second new ball is available. So, if they put it in the right areas Holder and Co. should extract something out of this pitch. Ian Gould shows the new cherry to the scorers. Holder will have the first crack with it. Only two slips in place. Off we go..

Okay, never mind my rant. Australia would be looking to really get a move-on in this session (not that they need it) and I presume they would declare around lunch time. The news we are getting is that the weather is playing peekaboo in Hobart. But, no rain as of now and play should start on time. A very healthy cloud-cover though for the bowlers to work with.

Day 2: Good morning everyone. Welcome to the live coverage of Day 2 at Hobart. Geez, the West Indies were bullied yesterday. Utter domination from the pair of Adam Voges and Shaun Marsh after 3 wickets in the first session. But even the scoreboard, which is daunting as it is, doesn't tell how bad the West Indies bowling was. Ranging from full tosses, to rank long-hops, it was heroically bad. Even the word 'shambolic' would have looked down on them and scoffed. Yes, I might seem to be too harsh on the visitors, but it's really sad to see their plight. And to make matters worse, the future participation of speedster Shannon Gabriel is highly doubtful after he was taken for ankle scans yesterday.

So what can we expect from Day 2? Australia have scored at a rapid rate today which might enable them to declare around lunch time. And then all fury will be unleashed on a raw batting line-up. But that's for tomorrow. For now, it's time to wrap things up with a prayer of seeing a much better contest between bat and ball. Ciao!

The signs were there. Right at the start of the day. Warner blazed away to a half-century, the prime new-ball threats were disappearing at more than a run-a-ball, an overcast morning giving way to a sunny afternoon. The signs were all there. But to everyone's surprise (even themselves), West Indies bounced back in the second hour of play nipping out 3 scalps. You would have thought that the visitors might stage a comeback. Surprise, surprise - they didn't. Rather, Voges and Marsh stacked up the runs, notched up hundreds and scaled a gallery of landmarks. While Voges was motoring along, Marsh stood firm being his elegant self. The bowlers hardly posed a threat and it was smooth sailing right through.

If this was a boxing match, the bout would have been over by now. Australia have come out swinging from their corner and can't seem to stop landing punches on the visitors. It's as if the West Indies are a punching bag and are being beaten down to a pulp. Just pitiful. Nearly 450 runs scored in a day for the loss of 3 wickets at close to 5 an over. Stop this already.

72.2 - Roach to S Marsh, no run, nicely leans into the fuller ball and pushes it to mid-off

72.1 - Roach to S Marsh, no run, skiddy back of a length delivery on leg, Marsh looks to play across the line and tuck it away, late to get the bat across and gets struck on the thigh pad

Kemar Roach [7.0-1-42-0] is back into the attack

71.6 - Kraigg Brathwaite to S Marsh, 1 run, flatter trajectory, Marsh goes deep in his crease and knocks it to long-on

71.5 - Kraigg Brathwaite to Voges, 1 run, lots of flight on off, Voges works it down to long-on

71.4 - Kraigg Brathwaite to S Marsh, leg byes, 1 run, that was almost a belated attempt at a forward defence. Darted on a length and skidding on rapidly from outside off, Marsh sees it come back at him, presses his foot forward late with bat hiding behind the pad. His foot hadn't even landed when the ball struck him before deflecting wide of slip

71.3 - Kraigg Brathwaite to S Marsh, no run, flatter and skidding on from a length from round the wicket, Marsh remains circumspect and blocks it from the crease

71.2 - Kraigg Brathwaite to Voges, 1 run, tossed up outside off, Voges move his front foot across, bends his back knee and helps the sweep to deep backward square. Over to you mate

71.1 - Kraigg Brathwaite to S Marsh, 1 run, flatter and sliding on from outside off, Marsh stays flat-footed while guiding it through the cover region

70.6 - Jerome Taylor to S Marsh, 1 run, will retain strike with a neat little steer through the point region

70.5 - Jerome Taylor to S Marsh, no run, oh he's missed out. Short and wide. In fact, too wide.

70.4 - Jerome Taylor to S Marsh, FOUR, hohoho! That's a rasping extra-cover drive. Wasn't all that bad a delivery. Just a fraction full and outside off. Marsh doesn't get a massive stride forward. Leans into the ball and threads it wide of mid-off. Almost on the walk playing it. Just another hit away from his ton now

70.3 - Jerome Taylor to S Marsh, FOUR, I've lost count of the half-vollies on offer today. Taylor dishes another one outside off, Marsh laces the drive through the cover region piercing the ring, and moves into the 90s

70.2 - Jerome Taylor to S Marsh, no run, too full, almost in the blockhole on off, Marsh squeezes it to mid-on

Now there is a slip for Marsh. I think I spotted a gully too

70.1 - Jerome Taylor to Voges, 1 run, back of a length delivery on middle, Voges shuffles across and clips it behind square

Taylor running in with no slips in place. Just weird

Jerome Taylor [9.0-0-61-0] is back into the attack

There is some issue at the sight-screen and it is being fixed. Slight delay. With Gabriel being out for the rest of the day, West Indies' problems have compounded and Taylor will have to step in if the visitors are to make a comeback here
