Nic Pothas, former South African wicketkeeper- batsmen takes over as the interim coach of Sri Lanka after Graham Ford stepped down from his job last week.
Pothas has already been with Sri Lanka as the fielding coach since August and now he will be the interim coach till the end of the India tour.
Sri Lankan Cricket Chief Thilanga Sumathipala is confident that Nic Pothas can do a very good job as Pothas is good with the team and he also knows his players well.
Nic Pothas said,
“
For me it is more about getting the players roles clear, what our game plans are and what our player roles are. They are very, very able and we are very confident that we can do the job that is required.
”
Nic pothas will begin his duty from 30th June when Sri Lanka will play Zimbabwe in their first ODI. He will be the interim coach for two tours. (Zimbabwe and India).
