Mishra to A Russell, FOUR, this time he is connected with the googly. The length was fuller and Russell took that out of the equation by plonking his foot way down, hammers the sweep between deep square leg and deep mid-wicket
16.2 -
Mishra to Uthappa, FOUR, that's streaky. But Uthappa and KOL will take that. Quicker, fuller and outside off, Uthappa shapes to play the reverse sweep, he is almost beaten by the pace, but gets a bit of wood just before QdK could collect, runs away to the boundary
15.0 -
Mishra to Uthappa, FOUR, was that a chance? Would have been with a better fielder. However, it was Zak and it is four for Uthappa. Pushed it through and almost in the blockhole, Uthappa crouches low and slices it to the right of cover-point, Zaheer dived but didn't even get a finger. Sorry, it was very far and even Jonty wouldn't have got that
14.0 -
Brathwaite to A Russell, FOUR, delicate. Not seen that side to Russell's batting. Length delivery angled in from wide of the crease, Russell waits for the ball to arrive and opens the bat face at the last second, gets it very fine and wide of a diving QdK
13.2 -
Brathwaite to Sathish, FOUR, tonked over the umpire. Length delivery and Sathish gleefully accepted it. He prods forward and hammers it in the air past the outstretched hand of Brathwaite
10.0 -
Brathwaite to Suryakumar Yadav, no ball, byes, FOUR, Oh Dear! This is turning out to be horrendous for Brathwaite, he was looking for the yorker, the ball slipped out of his hands, ends up a high beamer, Suryakumar swings and misses, de Kock can't stop it either, five extra runs added to the total
9.3 -
Brathwaite to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR, that's much needed for KOL, Suryakumar made room outside leg, Brathwaite helped him further by bowling a short ball, laced over point for a boundary, his first of the innings
7.3 -
Brathwaite to Uthappa, FOUR, cracking shot, way too short from Brathwaite, can't bowl those at his pace, Uthappa rocks back and pulls it over mid-wicket, a couple of bounces and over the ropes
6.3 -
C Morris to Uthappa, FOUR, lovely shot, length delivery angling back into the right-hander, Uthappa leans forward, presents a straight bat and plays the on-drive to perfection, beats Zaheer at mid-on and rolls away to the fence
5.5 -
Shami to Y Pathan, FOUR, that's much needed for KOL, tad fuller and just outside off, Pathan gets forward, drives it on the up and clears mid-off, one bounce and over the ropes
4.3 -
Zaheer to Chawla, FOUR, that's sloppy from Mishra, was too lazy to bend down in time. It didn't help his cause that the ball bounced awkwardly in front of him. Chawla was looking to go over the infeld, ended up dragging it in the air and towards mid-on
3.5 -
Shami to Chawla, FOUR, that's the reason Chawla has been promoted, length delivery outside off, Chawla gets forward, drives it on the up and beats mid-off, to his left, off the mark with a boundary
2.4 -
Zaheer to Uthappa, FOUR, nicely played by Uthappa, wasn't off the middle of the bat, but he found the gap past cover. On a good length and well outside off, he was leaning forward on the drive, played it on the up and beat the fielder wide of cover
2.0 -
Shami to Uthappa, FOUR, wrong line from Shami, drifts one onto Uthappa's pads, he gets inside the line and clips it behind square on the on-side, beats the man getting across from fine leg, first boundary for Uthappa
16.1 -
Mishra to Uthappa, SIX, what a way to start after the break. Dravid and Upton grimace. Flighted on off, Uthappa kneels down and pings the slog sweep over deep mid-wicket. Much needed hit for Kolkata
15.4 -
Shami to A Russell, SIX, that's outta here. Finally, he has connected. Shami dragged the length back, Russell stands tall and heaves it over cow corner. Got plenty of height and the desired distance
14.1 -
Mishra to Uthappa, SIX, majestic way to bring up the fifty. Second of the season and Kolkata need him to continue. His 100th six in T20 League cricket. Dances down the wicket, gets to the pitch and lofts it over beautifully over long-off for a maximum
10.0 -
Brathwaite to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX, 22 runs from the over, the last legitimate ball alone cost DEL 14 runs. This was a length delivery on the stumps, Suryakumar gets forward and thumps it high and over long-on for a maximum. Will this last ball hurt the Delhi?
18.3 -
Zaheer to U Yadav, out Caught by C Morris!! All over. Delhi have comeback to win the game by 27 runs. After being annihilated in the reverse fixture, this is a strong showing by the Zaheer Khan-led side. Billings and Samson hug each other. Coming to the ball, shortish and on the stumps, Yadav pulls and picks out Morris to perfection at deep square leg. U Yadav c C Morris b Zaheer 2(3)
18.2 -
Zaheer to U Yadav, out Narine Run Out!! 1 run completed. What a night Iyer is having in the field. Zaheer appreciates it as well. Erasmus doesn't even bother to go upstairs and Delhi are one wicket away. Slower delivery, Yadav gave it his all, but he got it off toe-end towards long-off. The pair was always coming back for the second. Iyer swooped in on the ball and hit timber at the bowler's end. Superb fielding effort. Narine run out (Shreyas Iyer) 4(3)
17.4 -
C Morris to Uthappa, out Caught by Nair!! GAME. ExpressT. MATCH. The set batsman has been sent back and Delhi have one foot on the door. It was a full wide delivery from Morris, Uthappa backs away to the leg-side to give himself room, reaches out and middles the slice straight to his statemate Nair at backward point, who reverse cups it in front of his face. An innings that kept KOL in the game comes to an end. Birthday boy, Morris has a wicket to his name. Uthappa c Nair b C Morris 72(52) [4s-6 6s-2]
17.2 -
C Morris to Holder, out Holder Run Out!! Where was Holder going? To the dugout? If that was the case, then Morris obliges. Very full and almost in the blockhole, Holder doesn't get bat on the squeeze, is struck on the pad. No appeal for LBW as it was going down leg. However, Holder had no idea where the ball was. Just strolls out of the crease, Morris runs forward, picks up the ball and underarms it onto the stumps. Holder was nowhere close to the crease. Holder run out (C Morris) 0(1)
17.0 -
Mishra to A Russell, out Caught&Bowled!! Geez! How did he take that? Has to be the catch of the tournament. At least going by age and Mishra's fielding standards. Is brave enough to give the ball a bit of air, Russell takes couple of steps down and smashes the ball, scratch that, murders the ball back to the bowler. Mishra was trying to get out of the way, he got his hands up to protect his face and the ball just stuck. He couldn't believe it as he threw the ball trying to run Russell out. A Russell c and b Mishra 17(12) [4s-2 6s-1]
13.3 -
Brathwaite to Sathish, out Caught by C Morris!! Brathwaite can't do anything wrong today. Apart from conceding 14 runs off one ball. 30-odd runs with the bat and now three wickets. Kolkata are floundering here. Short ball sat up nicely for Sathish, who seemed to have nailed the pull shot, Morris ran to his left from deep square and made it look utterly easy. It was a tough catch and the South African took it with ease. Sathish c C Morris b Brathwaite 6(7) [4s-1]
11.2 -
Brathwaite to Suryakumar Yadav, out Caught by Shreyas Iyer!! Wow! That's a stunning catch. He might have failed with the bat, but Iyer is making up for it in the field. He sends back his Mumbai teammate with a terrific catch. Length delivery on off, Suryakumar wanted to lift it over mid-on, got it off the base of the bat and spooned it towards Iyer, who ran forward, dived and took it inches from the ground. Flings the ball in the air with joy, he loved it. Suryakumar Yadav c Shreyas Iyer b Brathwaite 21(13) [4s-1 6s-1]
7.5 -
Brathwaite to Y Pathan, out Caught by Mishra!! That's a soft dismissal for Pathan! A wicket against the run of play for KOL. This was the slower bouncer from Brathwaite, Pathan was looking to help it around the corner, the ball came slower than he expected, ends up looping off a top-edge, straight into Mishra's palms at short fine leg. Kolkata have lost a third wicket and are in some trouble. Y Pathan c Mishra b Brathwaite 10(9) [4s-1]
4.4 -
Zaheer to Chawla, out Lbw!! Chawla's promotion hasn't worked wonders for KOL! This is as plumb as it gets, Zaheer shortened his length by a yard and got the ball to jag back into the left-hander, Chawla was hopping across on the flick, ended up playing in front of the pads. Once he missed, he was a dead duck. Caught right in front of the stumps, the impact was around middle and it would have crashed into the stumps, simple call for umpire Erasmus. Chawla lbw b Zaheer 8(5) [4s-2]
3.0 -
Zaheer to Gambhir, out Caught by Shreyas Iyer!! Gambhir's luck doesn't last longer! Nicely bowled by Zaheer, on a good length and a hint of shape back into Gambhir, he was hopping across on the clip, closed the face of the bat a tad too early, the leading edge is found and it's gobbled up by Iyer - moving a few steps to his right at cover. KOL lose their captain early, that's a big wicket for the Delhi. Gambhir c Shreyas Iyer b Zaheer 6(8)
