A Russell to Rohit, FOUR, my word. This is spellbinding. It's as if the ball is enchanted by his magic. Russell again misses his mark with a yorker, Rohit walks across off, and sweeps it through mid-wicket. He has a GPS fitted in the eye
18.5 -
A Russell to Rohit, FOUR, now picks his spot over mid-off. Magnificent stuff from the MUM skipper. He's paced this knock like a dream, and is now getting them over the line. Full ball around off and he smears it over the infield
18.4 -
A Russell to Rohit, FOUR, this is simply superb. The shot selection itself tells you how calm he is. Russell sticks to his plan of slanting it wide outside off, Rohit knows that third man is square and dabs it as late as possible to guide it fine
18.1 -
A Russell to Rohit, FOUR, swiped down the ground, as straight as a dye! It's full around off, right in the slot and Rohit simply swings through the line with a clean extension of the arms
16.4 -
B Hogg to Rohit, FOUR, shoddy work in the deep, doesn't help when your team is already drowning. Pathan is the fielder at deep backward square, runs round to cut off Rohit's sweep, slides and allows it to sneak right under him
15.3 -
A Russell to Buttler, FOUR, that's where Buttler is so good. He can murder you down the ground, and then he can frustrate you with these. Walks across the stumps, picks the short of length off-cutter and laps it past short fine leg
14.5 -
B Hogg to Buttler, FOUR, this bloke can strike a cricket ball! He can absolutely clobber it. He's picked the googly, and is also aided by very full length of the ball. Yanks the front leg out of the way and drills it straight back. Hogg stuck out a hand as a reflex, lucky that it didn't get in the way. Else he might not have a hand still
14.1 -
B Hogg to Rohit, FOUR, boundary off the first ball. The pressure is now on Hogg. This one is a googly, but it eventually doesn't matter as Rohit is down on one knee slapping it through square leg. Skims off the carpet into the fence
13.2 -
Kuldeep Yadav to Buttler, FOUR, Buttler's delicately chipped that over extra-cover. Don't think he picked the googly out of the hand and was looking to go down the ground, but once he realized the variation, he opened the bat-face on impact and creamed it delightfully
4.5 -
Hastings to Rohit, FOUR, this has been a great start by the pair as they stitch a fifty-run stand in a mere 29 balls. From wide of the crease, Hastings drifts it down leg, Rohit neatly flicks it to the fine leg fence
4.1 -
Hastings to Rohit, FOUR, Rohit was elegance personified there. The slower one from Hastings, Rohit stays back and punches it to sweeper cover. No need to run for those
4.0 -
B Hogg to Parthiv Patel, FOUR, now, that was a sparkling stroke by Parthiv. Short and asking to be hammered, Parthiv stays back in the crease and pulls it to the deep mid-wicket fence
3.2 -
B Hogg to Rohit, FOUR, this shorter in length delivery skids on, Rohit pulls it to the deep backward square leg fence. Nice timing on that one by Rohit
2.2 -
A Russell to Parthiv Patel, FOUR, fuller length delivery and just outside off, Parthiv hangs back in the crease and drills it down the ground to the long-off boundary. MUM have made a fine start here
2.1 -
A Russell to Parthiv Patel, FOUR, mediocred with width, Parthiv stays slightly leg-side of the ball and flashes at it. It zooms away to the third man boundary
2.0 -
Hastings to Rohit, FOUR, I would say that was the shot of the day. Good length delivery and angled in, Rohit just lofts it handsomely over the mid-on fielder and the ball just vroomed away to the fence. Rohit held the pose after playing the stroke for the camera. Rohit certainly loves to play on the up and through the line
1.2 -
Hastings to Parthiv Patel, FOUR, when the bat met the leather, the sweet sound gave an inkling that it came off the middle of the bat. No wonder, Parthiv's pull off a short delivery rocketed to the mid-wicket boundary
15.5 -
A Russell to Buttler, SIX, Buttler is muscling MUM towards victory. Brute force. Steps to leg just a teensy bit, creates enough room and slaps a length ball over the extra-cover fence once more
15.4 -
A Russell to Buttler, SIX, oh smack! Buttler is on fire. Length ball outside off, there's enough width on offer and Buttler swings his arms to carve it over extra-cover
15.0 -
B Hogg to Buttler, SIX, oh biggie! It's massive and soaring into the deep mid-wicket stands. Hogg drops it very short on the stumps and Buttler has rocked back to pull it into obscurity
11.1 -
Kuldeep Yadav to McClenaghan, SIX, this is exactly why he was sent. A quickfire cameo to snatch the momentum back. Goes low on one knee and whacks the slog-sweep way over mid-wicket. The tables are turning
10.5 -
Chawla to McClenaghan, SIX, this is a flat-batted mow over long-off. It's flat, it's low and it's burst through the fielder's hands. Very powerfully struck. Long-off ran to his left looking for an overhead catch but he was taken aback by the thrust on it
10.4 -
Chawla to McClenaghan, SIX, flapped off the bottom of the bat. It's going to long-off, it keeps going, and it's over the fielder. Geez, he backed away and hardly managed to reach it in the end. Seemed like slicing it off the bottom but it still carries
8.1 -
Chawla to Rohit, SIX, shocking half-tracker from Chawla, and it's been bashed over mid-wicket. Rohit leant back and powered the pull hard
0.3 -
A Russell to Rohit, SIX, the first six off MUM's innings. Half-volley on leg-stump from Russell, Rohit just whips it over the deep backward square leg boundary. It came right off the screws there
18.3 -
A Russell to Buttler, out Caught by Suryakumar Yadav!! Buttler has skied this a mile in the air .. went hard at a full ball angled away from him from round the wicket, the bat twisted in his hands and he sliced it straight up .. mid-off is settling under it, and pouches it comfortably. Is there still life in this game? 13 needed off 9. Buttler c Suryakumar Yadav b A Russell 41(22) [4s-3 6s-3]
11.5 -
Kuldeep Yadav to McClenaghan, out Caught by Munro!! Gone this time. Gone this time. A short innings, an IMPACT innings - happened in a blur to be honest. What a ball to get out to, though. Shabby full toss well wide outside off, goes chasing after it to carve it over extra-cover, but slices it straight to the man. McClenaghan c Munro b Kuldeep Yadav 20(8) [6s-3]
10.1 -
Chawla to Pandya, out Caught by M Pandey!! Pandya's struggle comes to an end. He was sent in to do a job. Instead, he just racked up extra pressure on his own side. Tossed up leg-break just outside off, Pandya clears his front leg looking to go downtown and slices it down to long-off. Pandey has a juggle or two but doesn't let it go. Pandya c M Pandey b Chawla 9(10)
5.5 -
B Hogg to Parthiv Patel, out Parthiv Patel Run Out!! Hogg at 45 shows sharp reflexes to effect a run-out as Parthiv makes the walk back to the pavilion. He is a disappointed man. Parthiv uses his feet and works it towards short mid-wicket, Hogg moves to his left and swoops down on the ball quickly. He fires in a throw at the batsman's end. By then, Parthiv had almost run half of the length of the pitch, but was sent back by Rohit. He did try to get back to the crease with a dive. Unfortunately for him, the keeper whipped the bails off and he found himself short of the crease. The third umpire confirmed the same. Parthiv Patel run out (B Hogg/Uthappa) 23(20) [4s-4]
18.0 -
Hastings to Buttler, no run, Hastings has put one down off his own bowling! Bangs in a slower short of length delivery and .. moments later .. finds it coming right back at him after Buttler mistimes his flat-batted mow. The fierce batswing is misleading as the ball is slow to arrive, it's at a comfortable height though around the waist. Hastings tries to grab it with both hands but it pops out
16.1 -
B Hogg to Buttler, 2 runs, clips it with the turn between long-on and deep mid-wicket and rushes back to retain strike
13.1 -
Kuldeep Yadav to Rohit, 1 run, tucks it away through mid-wicket to bring up fifty. Long way to go still
